Some nice portraits for Nice Media and NatWest!

Client: Nice Media | Photographer: Mat Quake | Retouching: Mat Quake

Nice Media approached me to capture a series of portraits, comprising of a range of different types of people and personalities. These photographs were used by NatWest, as characters for an internal employee digital training portal. The photographs were shot in a studio against a white background and then the colours added in to complement the individuals.

In a studio environment I tend to have a bit more time, and so I involve the person being photographed in my shots a great deal more. It becomes a bit more of a team effort.

The studio environment places individuals in unfamiliar territory. Completely different to shooting people at work or in their homes. I find the process requires warming individuals up a little more, involving them in the process a bit more. I’ll often shoot tethered in a studio, which means it’s easy to bring the individual over and look at photographs as we go along. It becomes a bit more of a team effort. As it happens, the individuals photographed here are all actors and were cast for the role, so being filmed or photographed.

Here are a few of my favourites.
